What a facial costs in Dubai, and how to pick one that is worth it
A salon facial in Dubai starts around AED 150 and a HydraFacial is advertised anywhere from AED 199 to AED 1,500 depending on the clinic and the add-ons. The price gap is not really about the facial. It is about who is doing it, what machine is in the room, and whether the place is licensed to use it.
A straightforward salon facial in Dubai starts around AED 150 to 300. A HydraFacial, the one everybody asks about, is advertised anywhere from AED 199 to AED 1,500 depending on the clinic, the tier and the add-ons, with most Dubai clinics clustering somewhere around AED 500 to 900. A medical facial with peels or injectables sits above that again.
That is a very wide range for something people describe with the same word, and it is the reason this question keeps getting asked. So this post is about what you are actually paying for, which parts of the price are real and which are the room, and the one check worth doing before you hand over a card.
An honest note first. I have not been to every clinic in this city and I am not going to pretend otherwise. Prices below are advertised prices from clinics own published pages, checked in August 2026, and they change. Treat them as a map of the range, then ring the place you like and ask for their current list.
How much does a facial cost in Dubai?
It depends which of four different things you mean by "facial".
- Salon facial, around AED 150 to 350. Cleanse, steam, extractions, mask, massage. Done by a beauty therapist in a salon. Lovely, relaxing, and mostly surface-level. This is the one to book when you want to feel looked after before an event.
- HydraFacial and machine-led facials, advertised from AED 199 to AED 1,500. A device does the cleansing, exfoliation and serum infusion. Clinics list entry tiers as low as AED 199 and full versions with boosters well past AED 1,000. Sessions run 30 to 90 minutes.
- Chemical peels and medical facials, roughly AED 500 upward. Now you are in a clinic, with a doctor or a licensed therapist, and the active ingredients are strong enough that the aftercare matters as much as the appointment.
- Hotel spa facials, AED 600 and up. Often a very good facial attached to a very expensive room. You are paying for the ninety minutes, the robe and the relaxation area as much as the treatment.
The single biggest driver of the number is not the facial. It is who is performing it and where. The same branded treatment costs two or three times more inside a five-star hotel than in a licensed clinic in a residential building, and the machine is frequently identical.
Why do HydraFacial prices vary so wildly in Dubai?
Four things, in rough order of how much they move the price.
Add-ons. Boosters, dermaplaning, LED, extra serums. Clinics quote a low headline price for the base treatment and the add-ons are where the bill grows, sometimes by several hundred dirhams. Ask what the advertised price includes before you are lying down with your face already cleansed.
Tier. Most clinics sell the same treatment at two or three levels, with the entry tier shorter and simpler. An AED 199 listing and an AED 999 listing at two clinics may not be the same appointment at all.
Who performs it. A doctor-led session costs more than a therapist-led one. For a straightforward hydrating facial that difference buys you very little. For anything involving peels or needles it buys you quite a lot.
Location and overheads. Marina, Downtown and hotel locations carry rent that ends up in the price. Clinics in JVC, Al Barsha and the residential parts of Jumeirah are routinely cheaper for the same protocol.
The one check to do before you book
Anything beyond a basic salon facial should be happening in a facility licensed by the Dubai Health Authority. That includes every clinic offering HydraFacial, peels, microneedling or injectables.
You can check this yourself in about a minute, and almost nobody does:
- Look for the DHA licence certificate at reception or the entrance. Licensed facilities display it.
- Search the clinic or the practitioner by name in the DHA medical directory on the Sheryan portal, which lists every facility and professional holding an active Dubai licence.
- If a place offers medical treatments and you cannot find either, that is your answer.
This matters more than the price. A cheap facial at a licensed clinic is a bargain. A cheap facial somewhere unlicensed is not a facial, it is a risk you did not know you were taking.
Which facial should you actually book?
If your skin is dull and dehydrated from the air conditioning, which in this city is most of us most of the year, a hydrating facial or an entry-tier HydraFacial once a month does more than anything expensive and occasional. Dubai skin problems are usually water problems.
If you have congestion and breakouts, you want extractions done properly by someone trained, not a machine and not yourself in front of a bathroom mirror. Ask specifically whether extractions are included, because plenty of machine facials skip them.
If you are chasing pigmentation or texture, this is a course of treatments in a clinic, not one appointment. Anyone promising to fix pigmentation in a single session is selling you the session. Ask how many they expect, at what interval, and what the total comes to before you start.
If you have an event on Saturday, book the facial at least a week before, not the day before. Extractions and actives can leave skin red for a day or two, and the results settle rather than appear instantly.
Questions worth asking on the phone
- What exactly does the advertised price include, and what are the add-ons?
- How long is the appointment, and how much of that is the actual treatment?
- Who performs it, a doctor, a nurse or a therapist, and are they DHA licensed?
- Are extractions included?
- Is there a package rate, and what is the per-session price inside it?
- What should I avoid for the next 48 hours, and does that clash with anything I have on?
The last one catches people out constantly. A facial before a beach day is a bad plan, and nobody volunteers that at the till.
What I would tell a friend
Do not buy the most expensive facial on the menu because it sounds the most serious. Pick a licensed clinic near you, start with the entry-tier hydrating treatment, and go regularly rather than dramatically. Skin responds to consistency and to water, and in this climate both are in short supply.
