Best spas in Dubai: where to reset, what it costs, and the couples and hammam options
Pick a Dubai spa by what you want: Talise at Madinat Jumeirah for a full resort day, Dior Spa at The Lana for one treatment with a view, Talise Ottoman Spa for a hammam, and Zeerla or the weekday slots at Santai Spa for a couples room. Plus the four questions to ask on the phone, which move the bill more than the choice of spa does.
The best spa in Dubai depends on what you are actually after. For a full resort day, book Talise Spa at Madinat Jumeirah. For one serious treatment with a view, Dior Spa at The Lana. For a hammam, Talise Ottoman Spa at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. For a couples room without a five-star bill, Zeerla in Media City or the weekday happy hours at Santai Spa by Mandara. A standalone hammam is the cheapest good treatment in this city; a couples package on the Palm is several times the price.
One honest note before the list. I have had wellness mornings at The Lana, Villa Sage and Keyani Wellness, an afternoon at Soul Senses Spa, and I went to the Spa Ceylon launch. The rest are here on reputation, and I say so each time.
A note on prices, because this is the question everybody asks. Spa pricing in Dubai moves with the season, the day of the week and whatever offer is running, and any figure I print here will be wrong within a few months. So this page gives you the tiers and the relative cost, and tells you what to ask when you call. For the actual number, ring the spa. That is one phone call and it is the only figure you can trust.
What does a spa day in Dubai cost?
Think in three tiers, per person, before any offer.
| Tier | Examples | What you get | Where it sits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Neighbourhood spa | Zeerla (Media City), Soul Senses branches, Prive Spa | 60 minute massage or a Moroccan hammam, sometimes a jacuzzi | The entry point, and where a hammam is best value |
| Hotel spa, mid-range | Santai Spa by Mandara (The H), Saray Spa (Marriott Palm), Amara (Park Hyatt) | 60 to 90 minute treatment plus pool, steam and sauna | Roughly double the neighbourhood tier |
| Five-star resort | Talise, Dior Spa The Lana, Guerlain, Bulgari, Burj Al Arab | Signature treatment plus a full day of facilities | Several times the entry tier, and the gap widens on weekends |
Two things move the price, and both are worth planning around. Weekday mornings are cheaper and quieter; the working week here is Monday to Friday, so the busy days are Saturday and Sunday. And summer, June to September, is when hotel spas run their best offers, because the beach crowd has gone.
Ask these four when you ring: is the price per person or per couple, is pool and thermal access included, is there a weekday or off-peak rate, and how long is the treatment actually on the bed as opposed to in the room. The last one catches people out at the top end.
Which hotel spas in Dubai are worth the money?
- Talise Spa, Madinat Jumeirah. The one I send friends to for a first proper spa day, because you can fill a whole day without leaving the resort: massage, facial, hammam, then the pools. I have not done a full day here yet. It is on my list.
- Dior Spa at The Lana, Business Bay. The first Dior spa in the UAE, on the 29th floor with the Burj Khalifa filling the window. Strong on facials, including LED and technology-led treatments. I spent a morning at The Lana with Beyond Wellness and Elemis in June (more below) and the height alone resets your head. I have not yet had a Dior treatment there.
- Talise Ottoman Spa, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, Palm Jumeirah. The hammam pick, and the Royal Ottoman Hammam is the one to book because it includes the thermal facilities. Reputation, not yet been.
- Guerlain Spa, One&Only The Palm, and The Bulgari Spa, Jumeira Bay. The quiet, very expensive end. Both on my list for a milestone, not a Tuesday.
- Amara Spa, Park Hyatt, Dubai Creek, and The Pearl Spa, Four Seasons DIFC. The two I would pick for a couples booking in the centre of town. Details in the couples section below. Not yet been to either.
What I have actually done
In June I spent a morning high above the city at The Lana with Beyond Wellness and Elemis: slow movement, breathing, a proper pause. It was not a treatment, but it was the best argument I have seen for booking a spa on a high floor. The view does half the work.
In November I joined a yoga-then-fragrance morning at Keyani Wellness in Al Manara for the Teatro Firenze Mystic Leather launch. Keyani is a holistic centre rather than a spa, and a good option if you want something calmer than a hotel. International Yoga Day this year was at Villa Sage in Jumeirah with L'Occitane; Villa Sage is a yoga studio with a hammam, sauna and cold plunge attached, and the spa side is now on my list.
In 2024 I had an afternoon at Soul Senses Spa, a chain that runs spas inside hotels across Dubai. Jacuzzi first, then a massage, and the therapists were the reason I would go back. And in September I was at the Dubai launch of Spa Ceylon, a Sri Lankan Ayurveda brand. I tried the Peace, De-Stress and Sleep Intense ranges, and De-Stress was my favourite. I have not had a treatment with them, so I cannot review that side.
Disclosure: Spa Ceylon, Teatro Firenze and L'Occitane invited me to launch events, and Beyond Wellness and Elemis are brands I have worked with. My opinion is my own.
What is a hammam and what actually happens?
A hammam is a steam and scrub ritual, and it is the best value treatment in this city. You shower, sit in the steam until your skin softens, then an attendant scrubs you down on a warm bench, rinses you with bowls of water, and often finishes with a clay or oil wrap. Forty five to sixty minutes, and you leave with skin that feels brand new.
Moroccan hammam uses black soap, a rough kessa glove and usually rhassoul clay. Turkish, which is the Ottoman style at Zabeel Saray, happens on a heated marble slab with a foam massage and a lot of water. Moroccan is the firmer scrub; if you are sensitive, say so. Etiquette: arrive early, take off jewellery, expect disposable underwear, and ask when booking if you want a female attendant. A hammam at a standalone spa costs a fraction of the same ritual inside a hotel, and the standalone version is often the better scrub.
Best spas in Dubai for couples
I have not done a couples spa day myself, so this is research plus what friends tell me, not a review. What I know for certain: couples rooms are few, usually one or two per spa, so book by phone or WhatsApp a week or two ahead, and ask whether the price quoted is per person or per couple. That single question changes the bill more than the choice of spa does.
| Spa | Area | What you get | Why it is on the list |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zeerla Spa | Media City | Couples room, jacuzzi with a Palm and Marina view, hammam options, packages from one hour to over three | The view, at neighbourhood prices |
| Santai Spa by Mandara, The H Dubai | Sheikh Zayed Road | Balinese style massages, with a discounted late-morning weekday slot | The best value hotel massage if your diary allows a weekday |
| Saray Spa, Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah | Palm Jumeirah | Seasonal packages: massage plus facilities and beach access, sometimes a dining credit | The one to catch when the summer offer is running |
| Sofitel Spa with L'Occitane, Sofitel The Palm | Palm Jumeirah | Couples suite, private jacuzzi, pool, sauna and steam | A private suite rather than two beds in one room |
| Amara Spa, Park Hyatt | Dubai Creek | 90 minute couples ritual plus pool, gym, steam and sauna | The calmest setting in the centre of town |
| The Pearl Spa, Four Seasons | DIFC | Massage plus short facial in a couples suite | Central, and reliable |
My pick for value is the Santai weekday slot. For the view, Zeerla. For a proper day out, Saray on the Palm when the summer package is running. Ring each one and compare what is actually included before you compare the numbers, because the cheap quote is often the one without pool access.
Can non-guests use the spa at the Burj Al Arab?
Yes, and it is the most sensible way to see inside. Talise Spa sits on the 18th floor. You book a treatment of 90 minutes or longer by phone or email, and that booking is your pass across the bridge, with the spa pool, sauna and steam before or after. A 30 minute massage will not get you in; the 90 minute minimum is the rule. It is expensive, and next to the price of afternoon tea in the same building it is the better use of the money. I have not done it yet. It is at the top of my birthday list.
Budget spas and Ayurveda
At the lower end, look at Zeerla's solo treatments, Soul Senses branches (check which ones have a jacuzzi), and Prive Spa, whose Moroccan hammam is usually among the cheapest in town. Booking apps like Fresha show live offers and are the fastest way to see what a treatment actually costs this week. If you want Ayurveda, Spa Ceylon is the new name in town, but for a treatment ask any spa whether they have a trained Ayurveda therapist rather than trusting the word on the menu.
How I plan a spa half-day
- Arrive 45 minutes early and use the steam, sauna and pool first. That is half the value of a hotel spa.
- Phone in the locker. Eat lightly before. Book a slow breakfast or a walk by the water after.
- Ask whether pool access is included, and mention pregnancy or any health condition when you book.
What I would skip
- A 30 minute express anything at a five-star spa. You pay for the address and leave before your shoulders have dropped.
- Couples packages that turn out to be two beds in a shared room. Ask for a suite with a door.
- Weekend afternoons at the resort spas. Same treatment, more noise, higher price.
